Mt Seymour Resort

Mt Seymour is the smallest of the three resorts situated above Canada’s third largest city Vancouver. Being the smallest doesn’t stop Mt Seymour from shining through as this city resort has been giving locals and tourists powder days, night riding and great riding since 1984.

This resort is small in Canadian terms when compared to other British Columbia resorts but is large enough to keep locals of Vancouver satisfied with greatly groomed runs spread-out over two mountains. What sets Mt Seymour apart is the beginner zones and the 40 hectares of night riding where the runs are brightly lit for smooth turns.

Being a ski resort 30 minutes from the centre of Vancouver there is no need to offer overnight accommodation as all the amenities of any traveller can be found in the central business district or suburbs of Vancouver.

Mt Seymour Lift System

Mt Seymour has a small set of lifts but keep in mind this resort is tiny when compared to the other major resorts in the state. The dedicated beginner zone has a magic carpet which comes straight out of the village area.

A number of blue and green runs make their way straight out of the village and the Lodge chairlift takes riders back up to the main area.

To the north of the village is the Mystery Peak Express which takes all types of riders up to a range of long blue and green runs and a bunch of gladed zones for advanced riders. Some of the most challenging terrain can be found up the Brockton Chair which takes riders to the very summit of the ski resort.

Mt Seymour Snow

Mt Seymour gets over 10m (32ft) of fresh snowfall each season and the mountain grooming team know exactly what do with it. Being located directly on the harbour and low elevation means the fresh snow is thicker and stickier than the BC resorts found on the powder highway, however, remember this is a local city ski resort and when you just want to ride snow its right on your doorstep.

Powder days can be found at Mt Seymour a number of times throughout the season and we know that everyone will be calling in sick for those days and getting straight to the top of the resort and hunting powder in the gladed zones.
