These Are The Best Japan Ski Deals In 2024

Last updated: January 2024

January might be coming to a close but that doesn’t mean the ski season in Japan is over, plus based on the number of storm systems that have rolled through in the last few weeks there are plenty of incredible days of powder left for those who venture over to Japan to get their annual Japanese powder fix. One key factor which makes this season a little different is all previous restrictions on visitation, mask and venue capacities are gone and Japan is back to being 100% open.

We ourselves have a trip booked for the end of February through to mid march and it will be our 7th trip to Japan but our first time skiing and snowboarding and we couldn’t be more excited. We will be off to Sapporo and plan to visit as many ski resorts as physically possible, stay tuned for a full update on each of those resorts, however, before we get on a plane and enjoy our trip we decided to take a look at the best Japan Ski Deals in 2024 which are still available for you to book. The best part is because we are starting to crest over the peak of the season it means the best Japan ski deals start to get cheaper, and we have never heard any skier or snowboarder complain about things getting cheaper, especially in 2024.

Best Japan Ski Deals in Hakuba

Through the crew at Japan Ski Experience you can still save up to 20% on lodging and lift ticket deals. Hakuba is one of the best places to ski and snowboard in Japan thanks to its towering mountain peaks, exceptional valley with little towns dotted all throughout and of course, the 10 ski resorts which are all home to exceptional snowfall. There was just recently more than 1.5m of fresh snow in the previous weeks which means the ski resorts in Hakuba will be riding through to the end of March. Whether you are a beginner who is about to take your first turns, and intermediate rider who loves long blue runs or an advanced to expert powder hound, Hakuba will tick every single box you can throw at it.

Lastly, one of the best Japan ski deals going around is if you have an Epic Pass or Epic Australia Pass, you will get 5 days of free riding in Hakuba. Any saving on lift passes means more yen for onsets, ramen and midnight trips to 7-11 in the snow.

These hakuba lift passes will need to be consecutive however once these run out you can get lift passes for 6,000 yen ($60AUD / $35USD) or better yet you can then venture out to explore Myoko, Nozawa Onsen, Shiga Kogen or Lotte Arai which are all world class ski resorts in their own right.

Best Japan Ski Deals in Niseko

Niseko is the most spoken about, world renowned and incredible ski resorts in Japan. It’s also not just a myth, the place is really really awesome for international visitors as there are a number of expats who have set up home and shop here which means if you ever find yourself caught out, someone who speaks your language is sure to be around.

If you hold an Ikon Pass for the 23/24 winter season you automatically unlock 7 days of riding at Niseko, this might be one of the best Japan ski deals available in 2024 as Niseko is quickly becoming one of the most expensive places to ride due to its popularity.

Niseko Central is one of the most established and longest service accommodation providers at the resort and they are currently offering a range of Japan ski deals throughout February and March of 2024.

Kids Ski Free in Spring

Anyone who books a trip at one of the Niseko Central properties between 8 March and 5 April 2024 will have their kids skiing and snowboarding for free. Each kid will get lessons, rental and lift passes completely free.

The longer you stay at one of the Niseko Central properties the more free nights you can unlock. This is an ongoing Japan ski deal that has been running al season and will conclude on the 6th of April 2024. Terms and conditions do apply so its best to check their website.

Best Japan Ski Deals in Hokkaido

Niseko isn’t the only ski resort in Hokkaido and many would argue due to the international crowds it has lost a lot of its appeal. This is where the likes of Furano, Rusutsu, Hoshino Tomamu, Kiroro and Sahoro come into the picture.

Furano is located in the centre of Hokkaido which means the snow is lighter, the season last longer and the whole resort, town and accommodation experience is more akin to a traditional Japanese escape. The crew at Japan Ski Experience have the best Japan ski deals at Furano where you can save up to 20% on your lodging and accommodation.

Rusutsu sits in the shadows of Niseko and that’s exactly why we like it. With your Epic Pass or Epic Australia Pass in hand you can get 5 consecutive days of riding which is a huge saving in itself and then with the ski Japan deals on offer from Japan Ski Experience  for the The Vale Rusutsu, its a match made in powder snow heaven.

Looking for that all inclusive ski holiday? Club Med has you covered when it comes to Hokkaido. Our personal pick would be the two Club Med hotels at the base of Kiroro ski resort however if you have a family and want to not see any foreigners, jump on over to the Club Med Hoshino Tomamu resort. If you want to get a little more off the beaten track then head over to the Club Med Sahoro Resort, all of these resorts are all inclusive, so all you need to do is turn up and ski.

If you are chasing deep snow and want everything from lodging, breakfast, ski pass, location, transport and guiding taken care of then Whiteroom Tours is worth a visit. Booking a tour with Whiteroom Tours might just be the best decision you make in your life and could be the best Japan ski deal of 2024. Plus, there are still plenty of spots left, we would recommend the Central Hokkaido tour which kicks off on the 26th of February and goes for 10 nights which will see you riding at Furano, Asahidake, Kamui, Tomamu, Sahoro and Pippu! The best part is they are the experts so if the conditions aren’t perfect they will change the itinerary and find somewhere new to ride.

Best Ski Japan Deals on Flights

Now that the borders are opening up again we are starting to see so many flight deals drop each day for Japan. The best part is that many of these flight deals are for flights in March and April which is the peak of spring skiing in Japan.

You can fly from Australia to Tokyo with Air China for about $550 AUD and then from Tokyo access Hakuba, Myoko, Tohoku, Shiga Kogen and Nozawa Onsen - all of which offering incredible spring skiing and snowboarding.

If flying via China isn’t your thing there are direct flight between Australia and Japan with ANA which will set you back $990 AUD. These flights will take you to Osaka, Tokyo or Sapporo, the latter of which will provide you access to the best ski resorts in Hokkaido. If the thought of economy seats sends shivers down your spine there is also deals on Business Class with ANA which will cost just under $3,000. We did this last November and it’s the best travel experience we have ever had.
