Perisher Ski Resort Trail Maps

Before your next visit to Perisher ski resort check out the trail map, or should we say maps as there is three maps because this resort is so large.

If you are a beginner, take a look at what parts of the resort are graded green for you. Intermediate riders will find intermediate blue ski runs covering majority of the snow resort. Advanced and expert riders will find the most challenging terrain on Mt Blue Cow serviced by the Ridge Quad chairlift otherwise the Devils Playground and Double Trouble regions of the resort will keep expert riders coming back for more.

Perisher Ski Runs & Trails

With a base altitude of 1699m (5574 ft) and a summit altitude of 2054m (6739 ft) Perisher offers a vertical drop of 355m (1165 ft). This means all of Perishers 4 villages are well above the normal snowline and offer a range of ski in and ski out accommodation.

Perisher is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard with more than 22% of the resort dedicated to green runs. The front valley is perfect for newbies to the sport and Smiggin Holes is a dedicated learner area situated to the side of the resort which gives first timers and children the ability to learn at their own pace. Smiggin Holes has its own chairlifts and T-Bars where everyone can get used to the process before taking on the rest of the resort. For the beginners who want to step up and elevate their new skills the Pretty Valley double chair is the perfect place to explore with gentle but longer green runs to really hone those turns and start to feel those edges.

Much like its neighbouring resort Thredbo Perisher is the place for intermediate riders with 60% of the resort classified as intermediate terrain. Mt Perisher has 2 chairlifts and 2 T-Bars with over 15 blue runs coming off in each direction. Guthega Peak and Mt Blue Cow also offer exceptional intermediate runs. Perisher does a fantastic job of grooming this huge resort and many mornings intermediates will love the fast and long groomers.

When the storms or low visibility rolls in the abundance of trees will keep intermediates happy and challenges as they hunt down hidden powder stashes.

Perisher is not well known for its advanced or expert terrain with only 18% of the resort allocated to black runs but for those looking for a challenge should be looking to head over to the Ridge quad chair or Summit quad chair on Mt Blue Cow. Getting there is part of the fun with an area known as the Devil’s Playground. For the advanced riders who are looking for a hike to really earn your turns, heading left from the top of the Pleasant Valley quad will allow riders to head towards the only double black diamond area in the resort name Double Trouble. With no quick access to the area each run will require the same traverse so if it’s a powder day make it worth it.
