Attitash Mountain Resort has introduced the "Mountaineer," a new high-speed quad lift from Leitner-Poma, during a snowstorm that brought 5 inches of fresh snow. This lift, named after the historic railway in the Mount Washington Valley, replaces the old Summit Triple and offers a faster ride from the base to Attitash Peak. Celebrating its launch, the resort will host the Cheers to the Mountaineer Celebration on January 13, featuring an all-day event with music, giveaways, and surprises, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Parts of the Northeast are facing intense flooding and power outages, with over 400,000 customers in Maine and 250,000 in Massachusetts affected. Sunday River, as part of its "2030 Plan," is replacing its outdated Barker lift with a new bubble lift called Barker 6, which will transport skiers from the base to the top of Barker Mountain. According to Ski New Hampshire, ski areas in the state saw a significant 13% increase in skier and snowboarder visits, outperforming the national average. Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The resort has welcomed a new Fairfield Inn & Suites and plans to open a new lodge/real estate development, called The Lookout, next winter. The Lookout will include 17 residences ranging from 1170 to 2490 square feet in size, with two, three, and four-bedroom units available. The first phase of The Lookout development is set to begin this summer and is projected to open by the end of 2024.
