This lift, named after the historic railway in the Mount Washington Valley, replaces the old Summit Triple and offers a faster ride from the base to Attitash Peak. Celebrating its launch, the resort will host the Cheers to the Mountaineer Celebration on January 13, featuring an all-day event with music, giveaways, and surprises, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Cannon Mountain Gets $18 Million For New Tramway

The resort is constructing a new chairlift with state-of-the-art features, including a loading conveyor. With the bottom terminal and lift towers already in place, Loon is moving ahead with the installation of the bullwheel and the lift house. In addition to the chairlift, the resort is also focusing on trail construction, which involves grading and revegetation to ensure the trails are perfectly shaped and lush. The expansion will introduce beginner and intermediate terrain to South Peak, increasing Loon's beginner offerings by an impressive 50%. Plus, with its convenient location just 1.5 miles from I-93, Loon is becoming an even more accessible destination. The resort has shared a video update showcasing the progress, and they anticipate opening the expansion to the public during the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Attitash is in the midst of a busy offseason, making significant progress on their Summit Triple Replacement Project. The New Hampshire ski resort is replacing the much-criticized Summit Triple chairlift with a modern detachable high-speed quad, promising a shorter ride time of six minutes and increased capacity. Recent updates have showcased the removal of the haul rope, comm line, and bottom terminal, with the drive station, top terminal, and most lift towers also taken down. Some lift towers in the steeper sections will be removed via helicopter.

The resort has welcomed a new Fairfield Inn & Suites and plans to open a new lodge/real estate development, called The Lookout, next winter. The Lookout will include 17 residences ranging from 1170 to 2490 square feet in size, with two, three, and four-bedroom units available. The first phase of The Lookout development is set to begin this summer and is projected to open by the end of 2024.

Loon Mountain Resort has begun the construction of the South Peak Expansion 2, also known as Electric Boogaloo. The project will add new trails and lifts for beginner and intermediate skiers, with 30+ acres of skiable terrain, fully automated snowmaking technology, and frost-free pipes. The area will be serviced by a Doppelmayr Alpenstar quad-CLF chairlift, and surface lifts may be added in the future.

Attitash Replacing Summit Triple With High-Speed Quad
Vail Resorts has announced that Attitash plans to replace the Summit Triple chairlift with a high-speed quad for the 2023-24 season. This is part of Vail Resorts' efforts to upgrade infrastructure, with the replacement of the East-West double chairlifts with a fixed-grip quad scheduled to open in the 2022-23 season.
