In addition, substantial investments in snowmaking infrastructure enhance efficiency and terrain accessibility. Recent snowmaking projects have further improved the skiing experience. Beyond the slopes, dining and activity offerings will be expanded, while lodging at The Lodge at Lincoln Peak receives significant renovations. These developments, combined with Alterra Mountain Company's commitment, make Sugarbush an even more enticing winter destination, with over $30 million in total investments since 2020.

Okemo Resort Suffers Major Damage In Vermont Floods
In recent days, the state of Vermont has been grappling with devastating flooding caused by a combination of a major rainstorm and a wet summer. The towns of Killington, Londonderry, and Woodstock have borne the brunt of brutal floods and mudslides. However, the town of Ludlow, home to Okemo Mountain Resort, has been particularly hard-hit, with extensive damage and heartbreak. Ludlow received approximately six inches of rain, leading to widespread flooding due to its proximity to Jewell Brook and the Black River.

Stratton Mountain, the renowned skiing destination in southern Vermont, is making a significant investment of $6.9 million for the 2023/2024 season. The upgrades include RFID lift gates for seamless access, a reimagined Learning Zone with new surface lifts and regraded slopes, and the implementation of HKD's KLIK Manual hydrant technology for improved snowmaking efficiency. Stratton Mountain is also expanding its terrain parks, adding exciting features and a new boarder-cross trail. Other enhancements include the debut of the Coca-Cola Snack Shack, Nordic Learn to Ski programs, a new rock-climbing gym, and upgrades to the outdoor tennis and pickleball courts. Stowe & Smugglers Notch Propose Interconnecting Gondola

This is made possible by their constant coverage of a trail called Superstar with artificial snow throughout the season. The trail maintenance team recently measured a staggering 364 inches of snow on Superstar, which is over 30 feet of mostly artificial snow, making it one of the deepest snowpacks in the world.

Sugarbush To Replace Heavens Gate Triple Lift With New Quad
Sugarbush ski resort in Vermont is gearing up for several infrastructure improvements in the coming years, including the replacement of the Heaven's Gate triple chairlift with a fixed-grip quad chairlift. The new lift, estimated to cost between $7-10 million, will improve lift capacity and speed, and follow the same alignment as the previous lift. However, the replacement won't happen until 2024 due to the high demand for lifts and supply chain shortages. Sugarbush is delaying the project to ensure they have the necessary resources to complete it successfully.
