Like a phoenix rising from the ashes it would appear that when the locals get behind something nothing can stop them. Saddleback Mountain resort in Maine spun back into life at the start of the 20/21 winter season after a 5 year hiatus due to a lack of funding to keep the resort operating. Thankfully like a knight in shinning armour a group of investors purchased the resort in January 2020 and plan to continue to pump funds into the resort to build back the glory of the north east.
Riders who visit this legend of the northeast will have 6 lifts to choose from which span out from a central base area and rise to a summit elevation of over 4,000ft. 68 trails are spread out over the 400acres of terrain and include 35% of advanced terrain that includes The Kennebago Steeps. It’s some of the best challenging terrain in the East with every glade is hand-cut by skiers and riders. What sets this resort apart if the rich history that is packed full of wonderful old-school touches.
