Cannon Mountain Resort is a ski resort located in Franconia Notch State Park in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, United States. The resort is named after its prominent feature, Cannon Mountain, which stands at an elevation of 4,080 feet (1,244 meters).
Cannon Mountain Resort is known for its challenging ski runs and beautiful scenery. It has a total of 97 ski trails, including 11 glades and 3 terrain parks, that cover 285 acres of skiable terrain. The resort has a vertical drop of 2,180 feet (664 meters) and is served by 10 lifts, including two high-speed detachable quad chairs. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Cannon Mountain Resort offers other winter activities such as snowshoeing, ice skating, and cross-country skiing. During the summer months, the resort offers hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as a scenic gondola ride to the summit.
Cannon Mountain Resort has a long history, having been established in 1938 as a Civilian Conservation Corps project. It was one of the first ski resorts in the United States and has hosted numerous skiing events over the years, including the 1972 Olympic trials.
